About the Order
Born into a world dominated by men, these women disregarded society’s precept to pursue their own aspirations or exigency influencing arts, science, literature, judiciary, military, religion, and government to the benefit of humanity of their time.
Motto: “Non possumus nobis ab hominibus in mundo, quod interpretatur
…uti vocem suam, nostrum, lumen videant”
“We cannot live in a world that is interpreted for us by others
...use our own voice, see our own light.”
(Hildegard von Bingen, Roll of Honor)
The purpose of this Order is to honor the lives of Medieval Women by perpetuating knowledge of their contributions thru education, preservation, restoration and accessibility of primary source documents relating to historical, genealogical and other significant data during the 5th—15th century known as the Medieval Period of Europe. Our concentration begins with the fall of the Western Roman Empire merging into the Renaissance and Age of Discovery with a focus on the geographic regions of the Eastern Roman Empire, Holy Roman Empire, the Nordic countries and Medieval Europe.
